Football Festivities

12 Dec

Happy Monday everyone!  How were your weekends?

Yesterday we hosted a little football party (GO PATS!).  This year we are part of a football watching club which means a different household is responsible for hosting each Sunday.  The host is responsible for taking care of the food, and the guests bring the booze.  Good deal, huh?

Oh did I mention this is a competition, with the best hosts getting a trophy at the end of the season???  Well this weekend the Hopf household was hosting, so being the two competitive people we are, Tony and I got to working on Saturday to put together a fun and creative menu…

For those who care about the game, the Pats won!  Whoohoo!  But more importantly, this is what we served!

Salami and Pepper Jack Cheese Football Crackers

Ingredients: Ritz crackers, pepper jack cheese, salami, ranch dressing

Melt in your Mouth BBQ Pork Ribs

Recipe found here.

Football Field Layer Dip

Ingredients: refried beans, greek yogurt, salsa, guacamole, sour cream lines, tomato and black olive players

Patriots Themed Trifle

Ingredients: strawberry cake, vanilla yogurt (with blue food coloring), low fat cool whip

So I’ve realized I’m horrible at taking photos when playing party host, so unfortunately you won’t see the actual people at this party (I swear, we had guests!) but I did capture Roxy and her doggy pal Mustard, who were pretty tired after the close game!

{So tell me about YOUR themed parties!}

    The crackers that look like footballs are so clever! (And the puppies are adorable!)

    I heard Mustard also enjoyed the ribs.. well at least what was thrown out! He’s not picky about presentation. 🙂 – Noah’s sister
